Imagine having wet feet while walking in the cold. Then, imagine putting on dry, warm, socks. Something so simple is really big for our homeless community!
Enter M.A.D. Club. Introducing our most collaborative project yet: Set Your Socks On Helping Others*! This is a friendly competition between area-schools to collect new or lightly used socks for underpriviledged men, women, and children within Cleveland. This project has been coming for a long time, and we are so thrilled at the Cleveland community's willingness to participate --- and, of course, compete.
Socks are a vital donation to shelters. Think about it: when you donate to a shelter, do you typically donate socks or other undergarments? Usually not, and for this reason many shelters have socks as one of their most requested items.
It all begins on Monday, October 22nd! Seven area-schools will be participating, including Gilmour Academy, Hawken School, Berea-Midpark High School, St. Ignatius High School, St. Edward High School, Padua Franciscan High School, and Holy Name High school. Stay tuned for updates and details, and may the best school win!
