Gilmour Chapter pancake breakfast will fuel a successful gardening season

Despite the ever-lingering chill in the air, our Weather App is reporting some sunny days ahead, which can only mean that gardening season at Ben Franklin is closer than ever!

Our volunteers are so excited to return to the blue-skied community garden this spring, and to offically celebrate the start of the season, the Gilmour Academy Chapter is hosting another all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 21st, from 9 AM - 1 PM. All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit our work at the Hunger Gardens, which are specific plots in the Ben Franklin Community Garden that are dedicated to growing vegetables for six local hunger centers.

In the past two growing seasons that M.A.D. Club has volunteered in the Hunger Gardens, volunteers have planted, cared for and harvested over 5,000 pounds of vegetables for the hungry in Cleveland. With more support, we are eager to put on our gardening gloves and add even more to this number!

We hope to see you there!
