In mid-January, over 300 blankets were delivered to the Gilmour Academy Chapter on three heavy-wooded pallets. This delivery was a result of the success from our newest project, Blankets of Love, which is an ongoing campaign to purchase military-grade, water repellent blankets that will warm the bodies and hearts of the homeless within Cleveland! The campaign kicked off with our first ever pancake breakfast, which was held on December 10th, 2017, at the Gilmour Academy Chapter. With the help of our amazing volunteers and generous donors, we were able to raise over $2000 to purchase these blankets!
It wasn't long after delivery that volunteers met after school to sort the blankets so that they could be distributed to various organizations within Cleveland. Each blanket was stuffed with the following sheet of tips on how to best use the blankets for means of survival:
The blankets were distributed to the following organizations to aid those in need of warmth: The Julie Adams House, St. Edward's Labre Program, and St. Malachi Center. Later this year we will be launching new projects to further help these organizations!
